In order to protect the eco-environment by advocating solid waste utilization, China International Conference on Solid Waste Utilization & Eco-materials was convened in Xijiao Hotel by the Chinese Ceramic Society, and jointly held by Solid Waste Subcommittee of the Chinese Ceramic Society and China University of Mining & Technology, Beijing on 16th and 17th, July. As a typical representative in practicing solid waste utilization, Shanghai Shibang Machinery Co., Ltd. attended this conference.
Headed by China University of Mining & Technology, Beijing, the conference established Solid Waste Subcommittee, with other dozens of universities and research institutes, including Peking University, Tsinghua University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as scholars and experts of other companies participated. Among all the participants, 80% of them were given to academic organizations that elected 68 numbers of the special committee. Amongst the numbers, two of the engineers of Shanghai Shibang Machinery Co., Ltd., namely Yang Jinguo and Song Ximin, were listed and issued with certificates.
Jin Zhanping, the secretary-general of Chinese Ceramic Society, pointed out in his speech that, in order to realize efficient transformation of solid waste into reasonable resources and push forward the researching development of ecological materials, the Solid Waste Subcommittee, headed by China University of Mining & Technology, Beijing and jointly established by other dozens of universities and research institutes, including Peking University, Tsinghua University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as scholars and experts of other companies, has breaded a powerful branch to fill a new stretch of power to Solid Waste Subcommittee of the Chinese Ceramic Society this year. He has also raised several requirements for the development of the subcommittee. Firstly, the subcommittee shall be developed further democratically; secondly, it shall stick to carrying forward its academic characteristics; thirdly, it shall create economy-oriented brand activities. The 2nd China International Conference on Solid Waste Utilization & Eco-materials commenced a promising start to bring solid-waste-related conferences to a national level, and shall be developed into a routine conference, to gather more intelligent and creative ideas in utilizing solid waste and eco-materials.
Yang Shangbao, Director of Comprehensive Utilization Bureau of Resources and Environment Department of National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out in his speech that, with the continuous depletion of natural resources, how to treat solid waste has become an important issue for people working in resources, environment and materials when it comes to utilizing resources comprehensively. At the same time, the development of Solid Waste Subcommittee of the Chinese Ceramic Society in members and in academic researches has strong ground in promoting the comprehensive development of industry, academy and research, in linking companies and the government and in supporting technological transformation of national industries in new normality.
Wang Dongmin, president of Solid Waste Subcommittee, pointed out in the conference that, comprehensive academic forums on the solid waste utilization and eco-material manufacturing have gathered the newest scientific researches of China and international world, which could bring new opportunities to the new interdiscipline of solid waste and materials and promote green and sustainable development of industries related.
As has been reported, the Solid Waste Subcommittee has established one expert committee, one youth committee, one entrepreneur committee and other six special committees, namely gangue and coal ash special committee, metallurgy waste residue special committee, building solid waste special committee, industrial gypsum byproduct special committee, hazardous waste special committee and organic solid waste special committee. By now, more than 400 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs are committed in the committees, bringing Solid Waste Subcommittee of the Chinese Ceramic Society as the biggest academic organization in internal solid waste industry.
Academic exchanging conferences were held in the after of 16th and the whole day of the 17th. Exchanging conferences were held in different sessions, including English sessions for solid waste utilization, metallurgy waste residue sessions, gangue and coal ash sessions, building solid waste sessions, industrial gypsum byproduct sessions, youth committee sessions and graduate forums. All together 85 reports are successfully exchanged in the conference and other sessions.
