According to the desulfurization process period, it can be divided into the coal power plant desulfurization, desulfurization furnace and flue gas desulfurization.According to the temperature of desulfurization medium, there are three ways for desulfurization mainly including wet, dry and semi-dry.At present, flue gas desulfurization is the main method in the most coal-fired power station.

In addition to the dry desulphurization, now more than 80% of flue gas desulfurization adopts wet desulphurization, which is the world's most widely used. It commonly includes Limestone-gypsum desulfurization, NaOH desulfurization, MgO desulfurization, etc..Because of abundant raw materials and low cost, Limestone - gypsum is most widely used. MgO desulfurization, with high efficiency and low cost, is mainly popular in minerals resource-rich area, such as Shandong Province and Liaoning Province etc.
