With a view toEgypt’s rich and diversified culture and history, ancient mining would have definitely played a major role in the development of high grade orebodies. However, modern mining industry has not really been carried out in Egypt, and as a result, the country has excellent potential for the discovery of significant discoveries.
Mining in Egypt has had a long history that goes back to predynastic times. Egypt has substantial mineral resources, including tantalite (fourth largest in the world), coal, gold, iron ore, phosphates, manganese and salt. In addition, minor amounts of asbestosand quartz were mined in 1986. Preliminary exploration in Sinai indicated the presence of zinc, tin, lead, and copper deposits.
Iron ores in Egypt occur in two forms: Banded Iron Formation andIronstone. Iron stone is the iron ore which is formed mainly within Phanerozoic sediments. The iron content in the ironstone deposits ranges from 30% to 58% Fe, and the manganese content ranges from 0.7% to 7.66% Mn.
The mining method at present is almost open pit mining. The iron ore mining plant consists of a jaw crusher followed by a cone crusher to reduce the run-of-mine iron ore to the maximum size required by the sinter plant. Of course, there is waste of energy and cost. The raw ore is conveyed from the mine to the steel plantwith all its gangue content. These technologies following iron mining include flotation, high intensity magnetic separation, and magnetic roasting followed by low intensity magnetic separation.
The rapid expansion in the world and Egyptian steel industry in recent years and consequently the increasing demand on the essential ferromanganese necessitated the domestic production of this ferroalloy.Manganese ores are located in Egypt in two major localities beside other several small occurrences. The economic deposits of manganese are Um Bogma in Central Western Sinai and Elba in South Eastern Desert.
Egypt mining involves several different technics, including extraction, crushing, grinding, screening, separation etc. The first processing steps carried out on the manganese ores mining plant are crushing and screening.
Mineral mining can be operated by surface mining and underground mining according to iron and manganese ore deposit location. Mining industry development requires advanced mining technology and high quality mining equipment. SBM has been specialized in mining technology for several decades. We developed complete series of mining equipment for sale in Egypt, such as extraction plant, crushing machine, grinding mill, screening machine, separation equipment, processing plant, flotation machine, classifier etc. Please contact us for detailed information.
Crushing is the primary stage in iron and manganese mining operation. In crushing process, larger size raw materials will be fed into the jaw crusher evenly and gradually by vibrating feeder through a hopper for primary crushing. After primary crushing, the material will transferred to impact crusher by belt conveyor for secondary crushing; the crushed iron or manganese ore will be then transferred to vibrating screen for separating.
After separating, the parts that can meet standard will be transferred away as final products, while the others will be returned to impact crusher or cone crusher for further crushing, thus forming a closed circuit. Size of final products can be adjust and graded according to your specific requirement.
SBM is global supplier of crushing equipment. We provide complete range of crusher machine for mining plant, such as jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, gyratory crusher, VSI crusher etc., which are available in stationary, portable and mobile applications, and suitable for all crushing applications for metal and nonmetal minerals.
